on top of the world

well - if you haven't seen it on facebook or heard it from me...we did it.

we won it all.

i can't even tell you how much of a dream come true for me this is. CIS Gold. the best in country. here are some pictures to keep you entertained...

we started by throttling U of Waterloo 32-0. and then went to on lose to U of Western Ontario 14-5. not the end of the world. our coach reminded us that winning or losing that round robin game against western wasn't going to win or lose the tournement. he wasn't joking.

we went on to play St. FX from the east coast in the semi-final. our two schools consider each other sister schools and have a lot of heart. St. FX are the team in blue and white. i'm dumptackling my opposite prop. the score ended up being 5-3 in our favor. a hard fought game but we ended up on top.

so the final was us and western again. one of the all-star scouts mentioned before the game that the winner would be the team with more heart. and we were. that's something that all teams and coaches who have played us have said. we have heart that you can beat out of us. we won that game 15-10. close but definitely ours.

Those final 3 whistle blows (to signify the end of game) was the sweetest sound of my life. what a way to end my university career. bittersweet in a way because it was the last game i would ever suit up for lethbridge but i'll never regret it or look back.

here's to us...and i can say that now....here's to us.
