cort vs. the supercity

my word.

i don't think i was so aware of my loathing of large cities. the rush - the impatience (and i'm an impatient person...what does it mean when everybody else is impatient with me when i'm already impatient about something or somebody else?!) - honking...oh my gosh...the honking.

i was sitting at a light today and i bet you the same time the light turned green the dude (or dudette as it were) starting honking at me. i looked in my rearview mirror and they weren't even looking at me...i think she was just honking for the sake of free rights.

and it takes you like 15 minutes to drive anywhere...minimum. except for my rugby club. that's a solid 7 minute drive. 5 if you hit all green lights. leave to rugby to be the good place to drive.

rugby is good. it turns out that i have played with 3 of the girls when i was part of the U23 National Team and i know another girl from U of A. they're a great bunch of girls and i think i will thoroughly enjoy playing with them. games don't start until the 2nd of Feb. so i'll just have to wait until then to know what bc rugby is really about.

back to complaining...i really am a small-town girl. and i'll you something - calgary is a small town compared to this monstrosity. 8 red deer or lethbridge sized cities ride on the back, front, and sides of vancouver like leisions...like warts or tumors. they each claim to be individual but when roads like "boundary" or " "brunette" are the only things that separate them, i beg to differ. dirty, smelly, congested.

maybe it's an acquired quality of life.

and to top it all off...i'm unemployed. i can't find a job...then again i've spent 3 days really looking but jeez. i thought i was worth more than this...maybe i'm worth too much. who knows...but at some point...something's gotta give. so if you happen to know anyone in the great vancouver area (the leisions, warts, and tumors of vancouver) that needs employees - let me know.

until next time,
peace out
cort
