...no excuse...
there's just no excuse for it.
i went back to my home town to visit my mom this last week. she is the postmaster...mistress...postmistress? (that just sounds dirty) of our small one-cow town post office. i happen to LOVE the fact that i'm from a small town. when i first moved there - i hated it. mostly because kids suck at welcoming people in...and i was from the city and they were all farm kids. i also wore cherry-red skater jeans all the time. who knew i would be 20 years ahead of my time?
i digress.
so i went and filled up my vehicle at the town's one gas station and parked right next to the co-op is this nice silver corrolla sandwiched between two falling apart farm trucks. apparently it's coffee time at the hardware (yes, our hardware has a coffee area where all the old men of the town that are too proud to sit in our nicer restaurant, Tivoli Gardens, meet once or twice a day). the corrolla being sandwiched wasn't the part that caught my eye...it was the sign (well, the one facing me) that caught my eye.
the sign shocked me...but it wasn't hard to notice all the other signs in the car...
"If guns are outlawed then only the outlaws will have guns"
"Blame the Liberals"
"Square Dancing"
- There was another sign blaming the liberals for something that had gone wrong...somewhere...probably the world wars - the car was probably blaming the liberals for the world wars.
"Child Pornographers, Rapists, and Molesters should be the ones getting castrated, not cows"
and there was another "Square Dancing" plate on the front of the car.
i mean, really...do we need to give people a reason to call us red-necks? these signs were all over the back passenger doors and the entire back window. i don't know if it's because i was from the town that really bothered me or just the ignorance of the whole matter.
geh. anger. grow up (and...the owners were in their 70s...not that that really explains or makes exception for the signs).

That is very alarming, indeed. You should have exercised your right to vandalize.
