new leaf has been turned over

hey.

i'm pretty excited about

stuff this week. i have been attending a church for the past few weeks on a sunday evening (because i work on sunday mornings at the camp) and it's been amazing. it's a service specifically geared towards college and career but the even better part of it is the average age of people that go to the service is like 25. it's so great! the sense of community is so strong and it's amazing to have people actually approach me and want to know how my week went and want to pray for me and stuff.

i went through years of being dissatisfied with church in general. I was very sceptical of the motives and even how pastors would approach issues. I would try numerous churches and could seldom find one that truly taught from scripture, relying on the bible to speak God's truth rather than one man's opinion. and so, as to not be one of those christians who hated church and just didn't do anything about it - i attended church. i never mentally, emotionally, or spiritually engaged what was going on - but atleast i was there...right? ha! i think it would have been better had i just not gone. I just wanted to find a church that had vision for people and really created a place of community. Not just surface community but really community where people care about each other and their needs. alas...i never found one that i could call home...until now...

i'm very excited to have found a church that i can call home and a place where i can feel cared for. and it's nice to actually be excited about going to church. ya!

other exciting things...i'm heading out to caronport to see my sister, bro-in-law, and their whopping huge son, Finn. he's not yet a year old and he's well over 20lbs. i think i will be training him to be a rugby player - probably tight 5 if he keeps growing like he is.

and just if you don't understand the picture...it's from jamaica. it's a little store that we passed on the road (it says it's a "future walmart"). atleast they have vision.

peace out,
